Specialist Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 13.10.2026
These Specialist Terms & Conditions ("Specialist Terms") govern your participation as a data expert ("Specialist", "you") on DataScope, operated by CODEGENIX LTD (Company Number 16808123), Academy House 11 Dunraven Place, Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan, CF31 1JF, United Kingdom ("DataScope", "we", "us").
1. APPLICATION AND ACCEPTANCE
Submitting the "Join Our Expert Network" application on our Careers page does not itself create an engagement. A person at DataScope reviews every application and may, at its sole discretion, approve an applicant as an active Specialist; approval opens the Expert Dashboard on the account registered with the application's email. No compensation, guaranteed volume of work or exclusivity is promised by applying or by being approved.
2. INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR STATUS
You perform Specialist services as an independent contractor, not as an employee, agent, partner or joint venturer of CODEGENIX LTD. You are solely responsible for your own tax and statutory registrations and contributions, business expenses, equipment, and any licences your jurisdiction requires for you to provide these services. Nothing in these Specialist Terms creates an employment relationship.
3. SCOPE OF WORK
As a Specialist you review AI-generated analyses of data that DataScope customers upload, check their insights, figures and visualisations for accuracy and relevance, and return your findings and corrections through the Expert Dashboard, following the review standards we give you when you are approved. You choose which assigned reviews to accept; DataScope does not guarantee a minimum number or frequency of assignments.
4. COMPENSATION AND PAYMENT TIMING
Your compensation is the hourly or per-review rate agreed in writing between you and DataScope before your first assignment. DataScope does not operate automated in-platform payouts to Specialists. You invoice CODEGENIX LTD for accepted, completed reviews, and valid invoices are paid within 15 business days of acceptance, by bank transfer to an account you provide. If automated payouts are introduced, this section will be updated before they go live and you will be told in advance.
5. PAYMENT ON TERMINATION
If your engagement ends for any reason, you are still paid for all accepted work (reviews you completed and that were confirmed as delivered) as of the termination date, on the timeline in section 4. No compensation is owed for reviews that were assigned but not completed, or completed but not yet accepted. Specialists have no prepaid balance to forfeit or refund; credits customers spend on expert review are governed by our Refund Policy and Cancellation Policy.
6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All findings, corrections, annotations and other work product you create while reviewing a customer's analysis ("Review Work Product") is assigned by you to CODEGENIX LTD upon creation, and through us to the relevant customer, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Until the corresponding invoice is paid you may withhold further delivery of that specific work product, but you may not reuse, publish or disclose it (see section 7).
7. CONFIDENTIALITY AND CUSTOMER DATA
Customer datasets, questions, results and business information you access are confidential. You process them only to perform the review, on our instructions, and in line with our Privacy Policy and GDPR Compliance. You may not download, retain, share or reuse customer data, or use it to train any model, and you must tell us at support@datascope.digital without delay if you believe customer data has been exposed.
8. QUALITY STANDARDS AND REVISIONS
DataScope may ask you to revise a review that does not meet the standards given to you at approval. Repeated failure to meet them, or a pattern of missed commitments, is grounds for suspension or termination under section 9.
9. TERM AND TERMINATION
Either you or DataScope may end your Specialist engagement at any time, for any or no reason, by written notice (email is sufficient). Sections 4 to 7 survive termination. DataScope may suspend or end a Specialist engagement immediately for a breach of confidentiality, a violation of applicable law, or conduct that harms customers or the platform.
10. RELATIONSHIP TO THE GENERAL TERMS AND GOVERNING LAW
These Specialist Terms apply in addition to our general Terms & Conditions; where the two conflict on a matter specific to Specialist engagements (payment, contractor status, work product), these Specialist Terms control. They are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are decided by the courts of England and Wales.
